Text to Household
I don't have the brain power to deal with everything that is going on in this house.
I just want to know are we seriously out of coffee?!
I just want to know are we seriously out of coffee?!

[ Only not, cause clearly he is losing his mind. But he's trying to keep his freak out on lockdown for your sake and Charlie's sake. ]
no subject
Come on, I bought new teas from Epcot, we can try one.
no subject
Maybe later.
[ He needs to figure this out before he lets himself be near her or Charlie for that matter.]
no subject
No comment on how coffee is superior to tea?
Are you feeling ill?
no subject
Maybe? I don't know.
[ He doesn't want to lie to her, but he doesn't want her near, when he is this close to a complete freak out either.]
I'll get back to you on that.
no subject
Depends on the context.
When was the last time you slept?
[Sleep deprevation can do a lot to a person.]
Five, no, if you haven't slept for more than 48 hours, it messes with you. You need sleep.
...please tell me what's wrong.
no subject
It hasn't been that long.
[ Can't a man lose his mind without all the questions? Stop making him feel bad, Rey! *Sigh* ]
...I'm not sure what is wrong...there are gaps in my memories.
[ He's getting soft. Definitely losing it. ]
no subject
I think it has...
That does sound like a side effect of lack of sleep.
[This is concerning, very concerning...]
Where are you? Maybe it's best if we talk in person?
no subject
This isn't about a lack of sleep.
[ He really just needs to stop responding to the damn texts, but he also knows that will just make her come looking for him any way. ]
I'm downstairs in the kitchen, waiting for Evie.
no subject
I think it is.
[....She'll start heading that way, along with a box of mint tea to help calm Five's nerves.]
I'm coming...but what was the last thing you remember clearly? Without question?
no subject
It can't be, because I clearly remember waking up today.
[And in order to do that, he would have had to have been asleep. Of course, he doesn't remember going to sleep, but that's another story.]
I also remember working on some equations.
[ Because he can't not number crush, his brain is constantly thinking of the math. ]
no subject
Yes, but how long were you asleep? Ten minutes? Thirty? You need at least a good hour's worth of sleep.
[...Stranger and stranger, and she needs to get to the bottom of this.]
Okay...that sounds about right.
Do you remember Disney World? Epcot? .....The Lego store?
no subject
Rey, I'm not sleep deprived.
[At least not more than usual! He had been making an effort to try and function like a normal person, even if he is anything but normal.]
I don't remember any of that.
no subject
Bull shit. When was the last time you got a full 8 hours of sleep?
[....and that's when she manages to get to the kitchen, her footsteps coming to a halt.
He doesn't remember and that...that is quite worrisome.]
Five? [Phone is put away in favor of looking for her brother.]
no subject
When he hears Rey's voice, he glances over shoulder, he does try to keep his emotions under control, especially for the empaths in the house, but there are definitely cracks in his defenses. ]
Rey.
no subject
WebMD would only freak both of them out, and it wouldn't cover people with extraordinary abilities.]
...I brought tea.
[That's the best she could say at the moment, but fuck. She knows that won't fix things.]
...There could be a variety of reasons for memory loss--too many hits to the head. Lack of sleep. Stress and anxiety are strong factors too.
[None of which would give them THE answer, but...it's something? Trying not to jump to too many things at once.]
no subject
[He really would rather have the coffee right about now. It would at least give him a much needed jolt and something to do with his hands. Honestly he knows Rey means well, but he doesn't want her to see him like this. He doesn't want to burden her more than she has already been burdened...but he has to ask.]
What else could I have forgotten?
no subject
The question gives her pause. She doesn't want to make him upset, but they need to get to the bottom of this.]
Depending on the block of time missing from your memory: getting me drunk at my apartment. Going to Walt Disney World, drinking at Walt Disney World...us spending time together. [Her voice goes soft there, showing some vulnerability before an idea hits.]
Is it possible you were taken by the Commission, or one of their men hit you with something to tamper with your mind? Maybe, did something to you, then made you forget what they did to cover their tracks?
[She doesn't know, but fuck it, after all they've been through, could it really be outside the realm of possibility?]
no subject
I'm sorry, Rey.
[ He doesn't elaborate past that. At her questions, he does think it over. Herb and Dot seemed to be fine with him given their new found positions because of his actions in the Commission. But that didn't mean there weren't those within the Commission that didn't have an ax to ground with him. ]
I guess it is possible, but I wouldn't even know where to begin to figure it out...Could you...[ He's not sure he wants to ask. He sighs.] sense it, if that is the case?
no subject
He didn't need to say anything else. He didn't remember. He didn't recall and that hurt more than Rey wanted to admit. She bowed her head for a brief moment, swallowing her emotions and pushing it to the back of her mind.]
I might be able to, yes. I won't read you unless you're okay with it.
[She pulled out a chair across from him and sat down.]
Do I have your permission?
no subject
There's some stuff in here. [He points to his temple.] That I really don't want any of you to see...[ He trails off as he momentarily glances away. Especially not you. Though he doesn't finish it. He looks up after a long moment.]
Yes, I'd rather know for sure than put any of you at risk. So you have my permission.
no subject
No, I wouldn't dive into your memories. I'd want to see if you're lying, for lack of a better term. Sense any discrepancies and...if I do, then see what we can do that's not me going through your mind.
[And if there is anything she senses that's wrong, she'll have to contact Charlie for an SOS.
There's a deep breath as she looks at Five, focusing her energy on him to read him while lowering her mental walls. It's a balancing act; keeping others off of her radar while keeping him in her sight. Being closer to him helps a lot.]
A few questions to establish a baseline, and just...talk with me. [Like nothing was wrong, even though both are worried.]
What's your name? Who is Number 2? Am I your sister?
no subject
Thus he simply nods his understanding of her explanation. He keeps his eyes on her, while attempting to relax. He doubts tension is going to help her read him.]
Okay. My name is Five. Diego is Number Two. And yes you are my sister.
[ That he hasn't forgotten, even if he has forgot other things about their time together recently. ]
