Peter was as big a fan of video games as Klaus was, so he was waiting his turn with the Sega Genesis with fake patience. He couldn’t wait to get his hands on the controller but knew that with Klaus playing, he would be waiting a while. So he brought down one of his many tech projects, an upgrade to his webshooters. As he tinkered away at the device, he glances up to watch a few moments of gameplay and then offers some helpful advice.

“You gotta hit that hill at a spin run and when you roll off it, you won’t miss the spring board.”

He catches it. Spider-sense was tingling, or something like that, so his hand shoots out to grab the controller carefully. Super Strength is one of his abilities, and they've been through a couple controllers because Peter's grip has a tendency to tighten as he plays.

"Just...just watch, okay? When you get right to this tree..." And he goes on to explain what to do next; hit down arrow, touch nothing until you hit the springboard, bounce off of the crab robot and spin dash through the loop-de-loop.

Once that's successful, he hands the controller back.

"See? Real world physics don't apply to video games, but you can follow the in game laws of physics to get pretty far, pretty quick."

"I think the science behind it is neat," Peter explains, but keeps his mouth shut in regards to further scientific explanations. He knows he can be pretty boring, and he knows that once he gets going, he talks a million miles a minute. So he's working on just letting people enjoy things.

"If you want, I can teach you how to beat the first Green Hill Zone level in under twenty seconds. It'd piss Eddie Brock off, for sure."

Eddie Brock, Peter's non-related best friend with a super-weird ability. Occasionally, they can be competitive shitheads. Later on in life, it'll get far worse. But for now, it's just amusing.

"Ah, just school shit, I think," Peter replies with a shrug. Honestly, how's he supposed to do what kids outside the academy do?

"He's supposed to be stopping by later. We're gonna work on figuring out what Venom can eat that isn't..."

People. That isn't people.

A slow inhale from Peter, eyes closing tightly as he exhales again and then he just looks at Klaus. There are no words. Just an expression that says;

'Why are you the way that you are?'

'Why did you do that'?

'You did the thing I didn't want to do.'

'I don't hate you, but I don't like you too much right now, either.'

Another sigh, and Peter nods.

"Yeah, so far, Venom really loves chocolate."
