[ Five is in the garden, sitting on the grass with a big golden retriever seemingly sleeping on his lap, effectively pinning him in place. The dog's eyes are closed, but if one is observant, they might notice the tail wagging lazily behind him. Five has one hand on Sammy's head, gently scratching him between the ears as he tries to come up with what to say now that he's decided to announce his presence again.

He came back a few days ago after what feels like a lifetime away. He's found his other self, but he's been afraid to ask who else is around. Afraid about who might not be. But he's never been keen on wasting time, and while his memories are still fuzzy, it's better to rip the metaphorical ban-aid once and for all. ]

Ey, so...it's been some time. [ He's grown up, grown older, and even though it can't be seen because the dog is on his legs, Five left the damn shorts behind him a few years ago. There's also a tiredness in his eyes that wasn't there before. ]

I have two important questions;

Number one, who's not dead?
And number two, do we have any lint rollers?

[ As people can see by the sorry the state of Five's suit, now covered in fur, wearing dark clothes, and having a golden retriever as a pet is a bad combination. ]

I'll remember that. I know I have always been the most open in the past, of have reached out to you all when I should have. I'll try to do better this time.

[ He can tell that Allison is honest, so it prompts him to admit that he's aware of his own fuck ups. Reginald did a number on them all, and then the Apocalypse (s), but they can learn from their mistakes. Or Five hopes to. ]

Eh, I do have plenty of experience talking to child-like people. [ Like ...Klaus. Most Klauses, really. Five will also make sure he behaves around Claire, and keep and eye on them both. ]

Nobody's perfect, right? We just have to move forward and do our best to be better to each other.

[ She replies, relieved that they are actually able to admit to their own mistakes. She's hopeful that this will be a step in the right direction for all of them. She laughs at his remark on 'talking to childlike people'.]

Yeah, I'm thinking we got the same experience there.

[ She agrees, since she's fairly use to talking to Klaus in a motherly way. It's one of there things even as far back as when they were children. ]

And especially nobody in this family. Quite the opposite. But I think we're so messed up that it loops around the full way and we become bearable. We can try, yes.

[ And try. And try, and try. Fine has already tried giving up once, and that also didn't work out as expected. As Allison says, the only way now is forward. ]

Klaus.

[ He confirms what they're both thinking. No point in beating around the bush. ]

Right. But still, showing a little appreciation every now and them is not bad.

[ She laughs at that, because that's definitely an understatement. ]

Yeah, clearly we all got issues and dad didn't do us any favors with the way he raised us. I definitely like to think I've become bearable, I spent a good part of my life being self-centered. So I certainly want to make it up to you guys.

[ She nods in amusement at the mention of Klaus. ]

Yeah, who else really? More often than not, he and I got paired together for training sessions when we were kids.

[ So she was sort of the defacto older sister, sometimes mother figure back then. ]

[ She adds after a beat with another smile on her face. ]
