Date nite, ft. 2 time assassins for siblings [Closed to Five's and Steve]

Rey was excited and not as nervous as she was anticipating herself to be. Tonight, she was going to have Steve over for pizza and a movie. A continuation of an earlier lunch date which went extremely well. A great first "date" and now, she was going to hang out with Steve again. He was a very sweet fellow who made her heart flutter and she couldn't believe they met and had exchanged numbers.

Her siblings advice on texting Steve (though she did not provide a name to her mysterious "friend") had gone pretty well, except the advice did not cover what to do if the objection of your affection texted you first. That had certainly thrown her for a loop, but it allowed them to talk, make plans...and now she was making sure the pizza was ordered, the movie was prepped and she had everything else she needed: water, soda if Steve wanted, and plenty of booze for her.

Which...actually reminded her of something.

Rey had thrown on an over sized emerald shirt with black leggings when she remembered she had to send a text to Five...or one of him? Both? Whatever the case, she needed one of him to pop over before her date arrived. Not that she was ashamed of her family but...she didn't think it was appropriate to have Steve and her eldest sibling meet--not yet.

Hey--There's still some coffee ice cream at my place. If you want it, come by in the next half hour.

Shouldn't take Five (one of them) long to read the message and pop on over...never mind the fact she put a time limit.

Now, she just needed to fix her hair a little. She had been wearing it in a pony tail all day, and she wanted to let it hang down.

[ Not that he doesn't plan on showing, because he does want the ice cream, but he's also curious why she's rushing him about it. ]

I can be there in a moment as requested but why the specific time? Are you busy working?

I'll be busy soon, yeah. I have a friend coming over, and I'm trying to get things ready for them. I've never had to host someone over before that wasn't family and I want to make sure things like nice.

A friend, right. So who's the friend?

[ Oh yeah, he is definitely coming over because he is too curious now and his paranoia might be starting to surface again. ]

That little smiling face makes me believe the opposite. But free coffee is the best coffee.

A friend I met while at Disney World, and we hit it off...and we're watching a movie later today.

Possibly...and it wasn't solely texting, we talked on the phone too. It was nice.

I wasn't on that trip, so I have no idea who that friend may be. Does your friend have a name?

[ But he is going to assume that his other self knows who she is talking about. Or he hopes his other self knows, because dammit one of them should be able to check this person out to make sure they aren't bad news. ]

Possibly? It is or it is not him? Good to know that things are going well.

[ He is still auspicious because he doesn't know who that man is but he is happy that Rey is enjoying herself for once. ]

Yes, I got it when I was out with the other Five, and thought you would enjoy it too.

[See? She's being such a great sister, by making sure one of him isn't feeling left out over coffee ice cream! So, be kind to her, and her date...please.]

...It is him. Same person. We are hitting it off quite well.

He does...and he's a nice guy. That's pretty much it. I can vouch he's good...

[Okay Five can't help but feel a little paranoid and he feels completely justified considering everything they have gone through. However he is far too curious over this 'friend' not to show up at Rey's place.

Even as he texts his other self. 'Do you know who Rey's friend is?' Cause dammit one of them should know! But he doesn't wait for a reply before he's blinking over to Rey's place and pocketing his phone. ]

Hey Rey.

[ Rey meeting with a man he had only seen once and chatted up with a couple of times is motive of concern. That's what Five thinks, even if he tells himself that his sister is more than capable of taking care of herself. The fact that she refused to share the identity of her maybe-soon-to-be- boyfriend bugs him but given the Hargreeves track record when it comes to personal relationships, he can't blame her for wanting some secrecy.

He can't blame her but he still wants to know. And Five imagined that he isn't the only one. He's about to go looking for the other Five so they can exchange opinions when he gets an unprompted message. He sends a quick a 'Not yet' text back and teleports to Rey's place...only to find himself already there. ]

Ah, you're here. Good, that saves time. [ Looking around, he turn to face his sister, a thigh smile on his face that is very much a carbon copy of the one the other Five is sporting. ] Hello. ice cream coffee, you said?

[Rey was in the middle of fixing her hair, or attempting to. Her phone at her side, prepared to answered any new texts from either Five's. She managed to get her hair wavy and look (somewhat) cute when BOTH brother popped into her apartment, startling her.

Which nearly causes her to use her powers to throw things at them, out of defense. Both Fives were saved from being smacked with hair brushes and a hair dryer.]

Five! [Shit, damnit!] Knocking...knocking would've been preferred.

[Didn't they have this conversation once with at least one of them?]

Ice cream's in the kitchen, in the freezer. Take it and enjoy.

[But deep breath...] Hi? If that's all you're here for...take the carton home and share it amongst yourselves....

I do trust you, Rey, but I'm guessing you don't trust me.

[He'd trust her much more, if she would let him at the least make sure the person in question doesn't have a hidden agenda. ]

[Oh damnit, Five. He is her brother and is going for low blows now.]

I trust you, I do...but can you promise me you won't do a full background check on him, or investigate him? Or, track him down and demand to know what his intentions are?

That's the kind of shit Luther or Diego might pull, and I'm REALLY hoping you won't do that either.

[ Five glances over toward his other self and gives him a nod. Because yes, it does save time. ]

What? I thought you would be expecting me, since you extended the invitation.

[ Nope, not apologizing for blinking in. He can't help but smile because now that he sees Rey fussing over her hair, he knows the friend is likely a potential boyfriend for sure. ]

The ice cream was pretty good. [ He tells the other Five, completely ignoring Rey trying to rush them out the door already. ]

Oh, with him. Of course.

[ She really is, too bad that Five's brain is still in the 'you don't fit anywhere anymore' setting. But he won't be mean to her date. Not on purpose!]

You really like him, uh? I'm glad for you, Rey.

[If Rey knew what was going on in Five's head, she would tell him to stop, and she loved both of them equally, and he belonged with them.

But she doesn't, though she feel some sort of inkling that something isn't right.]

Yes. I wanted to go with you, but the opportunity never presented itself...until we both needed to get drunk because... [Finding out you have two Five's and the world isn't ending is hard to comprehend.]

I'm trying to be cautious about this, but...yes. I do like him.

He won't replace you though. You're still my best friend. <3

[ They're probably the only two people in this family who can be in a specific place and time when needed, Five isn't surprised that they both have the same way of thinking. He raises an inquisite eyebrow at his sister. ]

Did you text us both? [ His voice is neutral -he's also not apologizing for blinking into her house - but he's slightly put off by the idea. It's sweet of Rey to want to keep the both of them updated at the same time but he wonders what kind of conversations she had with his other-self. ]

So I've heard. [ He informs the other and the tightness of Five's smile is only slightly more accentuated. It's not the other Five's fault, nor it's Rey's, they're both trying to act as a family...but it still makes something ache in Five's chest. It's a personal problem that he's going to try and ignore, so he forces his shoulders to relax and gives Rey a once over, his smile turning more genuine. ] You look very cute.

[ He turns to his 'twin' a moment later, his tone almost accusatory but with a grin playing on his lips. ] He refuses to tell me the name of the guy she's dating but they met at Disneyworld. It's adorable.

[Rey has to take a deep breath for herself otherwise her mind will run in so many circles and she needs to keep track of time. Steve would be here soon and she REALLY wanted this to go well. They did have a good lunch date, but that was only two hours and they had to be professional about it since ...well, it was during work hours?]

I was expecting both of you, but a 'I'm heading over' text would've been preferred. Or knocking on my apartment door. [Small steps, small baby steps.] And yes, I texted both of you because I wanted the coffee ice cream to be enjoyed by both of you.

[Trying to be even and fair since there are two of them. Although, it's...easy to tell one Five is more annoyed? Protective? Or just upset about the situation more so than the other.]

Um, thanks? I was trying to do something with my hair since it was up all day--!!

[There's a small groan as she picks up a hair brush to try and comb her hair--but it accidentally (she will swear by it) is thrown at one of the Five's.] Shit, sorry! [It was a sloppy throw, one used with her powers.] But, it's not that adorable! We met at Epcot, we took a photo together by the Eiffel Tower..

[Okay, maybe it was adorable, just a little--and also telling both of them more intimate details of her meeting with Steve.]

And I would give you his name--if you both promise to not.. [She starts to list off her 'demands' with her fingers:] Run a background check on him, investigate him, stake him out, threaten him with bodily harm, or ask him what his intentions are.

Ah, you remembered that? I didn't think you would--since it's not that important, but kind of was and...yeah... We did have a lunch date and it...it went really well, Five. [In a roundabout way of saying she didn't think her personal life was important compared to the others, but YES HER LUNCH DATE WENT WELL!
