Alexis had been raised in a governmental testing facility, someplace more than a little like the fabled Area 51. She didn't know where she'd actually been born, only when, and that her birth was listed as 'anomalous' because she'd finally thought to take it with her during one of her escapes. The facility was a warren of buildings that had collapsed sometime in the late '90s, unstable foundations due to roots, not that she would admit to knowing anything about it, even if anyone had been able to track her down to ask. It had taken her three tries to actually make good on her escape permanently, around the same time that the facility collapsed.
She had bounced around a little after that, finally ending up in Finland of all places, and for lack of anything else to do, had started a YouTube channel, some combination of gardening tips and seamless time-lapse videos of plants growing. What no one knew -though many speculated- was that the videos weren't time-lapse at all, and were simply plants growing at great speed, even when the wove into intricate designs as they grew.
She specialized in bonsai and other miniatures, because there was an artistry to them that she enjoyed. Like many she'd heard of the Umbrella Academy, and she wasn't sure what made her decide it was time to make a visit, but she had long since learned not to ignore those instincts. She'd made travel arrangements, packing a few of her trees that could survive the trip, and Bob as well, though Bob looked a bit like a marimo moss ball, except larger, a little smaller than a standard basketball, and clearly not in need of being in water, given the fact that he was being carried in a mesh bag at her hip.
It was midafternoon on a weekend when she finally made her way up to the house, massive though it was, because she figured that would be the most likely time that someone would be home and she wouldn't be interrupting a group dinner or anything of the sort. She stood six-four in comfortable sandals, well-worn jeans and an unbuttoned flannel over layered tank top and t-shirt, the scarf tied around her head didn't hide her shock of red hair as much as just keep it pulled out of her face and aside from the height she didn't seem any more intimidating than a misplaced sparrow, hesitating only briefly before knocking twice at the door.

She turned an easy smile on him then, "I read the comics, I'm sure a lot of people did, only I didn't know about them until a few years ago, about the same time I found the forum, mostly chatter, but a couple genuine folks. I was, uh, we'll call it raised in captivity, only been out and about for about ten years now, maybe twelve."

He listened to her with interest, features darkening hen she mentioned captivity. Five was not strange to miserable lives and cruel people, he has developed a thick skin and thin patience for the later.
"Why don't you tell me a little more about that while we have some coffee?"

She was never sure what other people would think was important about the facility, and it really was all the same to her now that the place didn't exist anymore. She also had the feeling that anyone here would have different ideas as to what might be important or of interest about her or how she'd come into her own with her abilities.
