n5: (I'm gonna kill you)

HELL YES. Here comes the Cavalry

The world was ending.

It was just their luck that they caused the very thing they were trying to stop. In retrospect, Five thought as he held his siblings' hands tightly in a last attempt to time travel them all to the past, it was a very on brand thing to do for their dysfunctional family. And if he was honest with himself, he would admit that the problem started far much sooner, the book Vanya had written the first sign of smoke before the fire.

He had no time to wonder more about their past mistakes when the familiar blue glow of altered time fell over them like a blanket. In the midst of chaos, as Five worked to project their consciousnesses backward into a suspended quantum state version of themselves, their appearance was altered. They looked just like he remembered them for so many year, like they did the day he time jumped for the first time.

There were seven of them.

Five knew the currents of time and space. He grew accustomed to their intricacies from a very young age, learned that they were in constant change and that they were infinite. He learned that the Commission lived and worked on a time pocked dimension of sorts. He knew how those felt in his bones, the shiver it caused up his spine. And there, now, that was exactly the exact same feeling.

By the time they all landed on the garden, the grass wet under them and daddy dearest's ashes a few feet away, Five's head was swimming. He felt dizzy and around him, his siblings were groaning and gasping in different states of mild pain and confusion. Time traveling had always made Five feel as if someone had tried to stuff a whole pillow inside his head through his nose. This time? This time the feeling was ten times worse, the pressure in his brain and the pain racking through his body making him heave for air. His muscles ached and his fingers twitched as he fell to his knees, palms connecting with the damp, muddy ground.

Allison said something, which meant her vocal chords were healed, and the reply came from Diego's baritone voice. He sounded alarmed and grumpy, but like an adult. Sure enough, when Five glanced to the side he saw them back on their normal bodies, Diego checking on Vanya as Luther hold her close for dear life, Allison pulling at Klaus' arm. He was looking around him in dismay as if he was looking for something. For someone.

And then there were six, Five thought, mind going a mile a minute. His body wasn't ready for a repeat, he had no idea if he could make the leap to the right dimension and not die in the process, but what the hell. What else did he have to lose? Balling his hands into fists, he shut his eyes, focused on the sensation of the pocket dimension...and jumped.
