His head still felt light, but maybe it was the rush of air he was getting. He took in another deep breath, trying to slow his breathing. Holding it a moment, and then letting it out again. "Jesus, this hurts..." His voice sounded horse as he sucked in another breath, but then... he laughed, smiling. "I'm alive?"
